Photobiomodulation
Red Light Therapy
Photobiomodulation (PBM) uses specific wavelengths of red and near-infrared light to energize the mitochondria inside your cells. The result: better skin, faster recovery, calmer inflammation, and a body that simply works better.

What it is
Light your cells can actually use.
Red light therapy — clinically called photobiomodulation (PBM) — delivers specific wavelengths of red and near-infrared light to your skin and the tissue underneath. Inside every one of your cells are mitochondria, the tiny power plants that make ATP (energy). Mitochondria contain a light-sensitive enzyme called cytochrome c oxidase that absorbs these wavelengths the way a plant absorbs sunlight.
When that absorption happens, three things change at the cellular level:
- More energy. ATP production goes up — fueling repair, immune function, and recovery.
- Less inflammation. Reactive oxygen species are rebalanced and inflammatory signaling calms down.
- Better circulation. Local nitric oxide release improves blood flow, oxygen delivery, and waste removal.
No drugs. No needles. No UV. Just targeted light doing what it has done for human tissue for as long as we've stood in the sun.
Our equipment
Why we use the infrared lamp.
You'll see red light therapy delivered as panels, beds, masks, or wands. We chose the multi-head infrared lamp because of how it actually feels on the body and how well it covers the areas patients come in for — pain, joints, scalp, neuropathy, and recovery.

Multi-head, full-spectrum coverage
Our floor-standing lamp uses five independently-positioned heads on flexible arms, so we can wrap warm light around a shoulder, low back, knee, scalp, or face — and treat several areas at once.
Therapeutic depth
Combined red and near-infrared energy penetrates well past the skin into muscle, fascia, joints, and nerve tissue — exactly where chronic pain and slow healing live.
Comfortable, dry warmth
Unlike a heating pad, the lamp delivers a gentle, penetrating warmth that increases local circulation without overheating the skin. Most patients describe it as deeply soothing.
Decades of clinical use
Infrared mineral lamps have been used in physical medicine and traditional Chinese medicine for decades to relieve pain, improve circulation, and accelerate tissue repair.
Why red light
Light is medicine your cells understand.
When mitochondria absorb red and near-infrared photons, they make more energy, calm oxidative stress, and help tissue repair itself. It's gentle, evidence-backed, and a beautiful complement to the rest of your protocol.
Mitochondrial fuel
Red and near-infrared wavelengths are absorbed by cytochrome c oxidase, increasing ATP — the energy currency of every cell.
Non-invasive
No needles, no downtime, no UV. Just sit or recline under the warm glow of the lamp.
Whole-body benefits
From skin and hair to joints, sleep, and mood — light therapy supports the body system-wide.
Stacks beautifully
Pairs with HBOT, IV nutrition, peptides, PRF, and hormone therapy as part of a complete protocol.
What we treat
Common reasons patients come in for the lamp.
- Arthritis & joint pain
- Back, neck & shoulder tension
- Tendonitis & sports recovery
- Peripheral neuropathy
- Slow-healing wounds & scars
- Hair thinning (paired with PRF)
- Skin texture, tone & fine lines
- Brain fog & low energy
- Sleep & circadian support
- Post-surgical recovery
What to expect
Relaxing sessions, cumulative results.
Sessions are short and comfortable. Most patients notice changes in pain, skin, and sleep within a few weeks, with deeper recovery and inflammation benefits building over time.
Consult
We review your goals — skin, recovery, pain, sleep, neuropathy, hair, or general longevity — and design your protocol.
Prep
Skin clean, no lotions or sunscreen on the treated area. Eye protection provided. Comfortable, modest setup.
Light session
10–30 minutes under our medical-grade red and near-infrared lamp. Most patients find it deeply relaxing — many fall asleep.
Repeat
Most protocols call for 2–3 sessions per week for several weeks, then maintenance. Results build cumulatively.
Frequently asked
Red light therapy, answered.
What's the difference between red light and infrared?
Red light (around 630–660nm) is visible and primarily targets the skin, scalp, and surface tissue — collagen, elastin, hair follicles. Near-infrared (around 810–850nm) is invisible and penetrates deeper into muscle, joints, and the nervous system. Our lamp delivers both wavelengths together so you get surface and deep benefits in the same session.
Why do you use the lamp instead of a panel or bed?
The multi-head infrared lamp lets us aim warm, therapeutic light precisely where you need it — wrapped around a painful shoulder, low back, or knee — with the comforting depth of infrared heat. It's the format that's helped our patients most for chronic pain, joint issues, and recovery.
Is it safe? Are there side effects?
Red and near-infrared light therapy is widely studied and very well tolerated. There's no UV, no burning, and no downtime. We use eye protection during sessions. People who are pregnant, photosensitive, or on certain medications should let us know in your consult.
Will it feel hot?
You'll feel a pleasant, soothing warmth — like sunshine on your skin. The lamp is positioned at a safe distance and adjusted to your comfort. Most patients find it deeply relaxing and many drift off.
How quickly will I see results?
Many patients notice less pain and better sleep within the first 1–2 weeks. Skin, hair, and deeper tissue changes typically build over 4–8 weeks of consistent sessions.
How does this fit with my other treatments?
Beautifully. Red light therapy pairs naturally with hyperbaric oxygen, IV nutrition, peptides, PRF, hormone therapy, and aesthetics — amplifying the regenerative effects of each.
